لا يبعد الله من قد غاب عن بصري ** ولم يغب عن صميم القلب والفكر
 اشتاقه كاشتياق العين نومتها ** بعد الهجود وجدب الأرض للمطر
 وعاتبوني على بذل الفؤاد له ** وما دروا أنني أعطيته عمري
